It's Friday Night

Happy Friday night, ya'll!

I am enjoying my evening with a cherry coke zero.  Biz and I decided to stop drinking soda during the week...Friday night is technically the weekend, right?  ;]

I am also amazed at how many nail polishes it takes to get a nice manicure that will last for more than a day or two.  Base coat, color, glitter (ohhhh fun!), and top coat.  I'm sure I'll be showing this manicure off when I have better lighting for pictures.  Three of these polishes are by Sally Hansen; one is by Wet & Wild and I'm pretty sure it will chip in an hour or so.  Oh, cheap nail polish...why are you so tempting with your fun colors?

I may or may not be wishing the Easter bunny left me more Reese's eggs.  Because I may have eaten my last one today.
On a related note, anyone want to share their Reese's eggs with me?  ;]

But I am excited because I have five new library books on my kindle to start reading.  I'm on a million hold lists, and, of course, they all became available at the same time.  I foresee a ton of reading in my future, but I'm not complaining!
P.S.- In case you are curious, the books are The Rescue by Nicholas Sparks, Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer, Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, The Sea of Monsters (Book 2 in the Percy Jackson series) by Rick Riordan, and Avalon High by Meg Cabot.  I'm not sure if I'm going to read Water for Elephants.  I'm not to interested in it right now.  Any opinions about that book?

A Fantastic Weekend

Hi everyone!  I feel like I haven't posted in forever...hmm...eleven days.  That is pretty long for me!  I've been keeping quite busy with work and my social life (aka Mr. Biz), so this lil' blog has fallen by the wayside.  But no longer!  No, today I am diving back into the blogging scene with a recap of my awesome weekend. 

My main squeeze, Mr. Biz, is a super responsible guy and he works really hard to be that responsible.  Therefore, he ends up working pretty much every Saturday until 6PM.  I'm cool with that, but this weekend he took Saturday off and we spent the whole day together.  It was such a treat to be able to spend so much time with him.  We went down to Atlanta to pick up his stuff for the Georgia Marathon and stopped at Le Madeline's in Duluth for lunch on the way back.  The food was pretty good, but I was unimpressed with the service.  I overheard a waiter being very rude behind a customer's back, and that really bothered me.  I might go there again, but it wouldn't be a destination I would seek out.  After that we ran around town and did some window shopping (aka, we looked at expensive things but didn't buy any of it, haha).  We ended the day with a little coffee date (we loooove coffee and have spent hundreds of dollars at Starbucks over the course of our relationship). 

Our Sunday started at 5:40AM, when I met Mr. Biz and we drove down to Atlanta again.  He ran the Publix Georgia Marathon and I went with him to cheer him on.  He did an aweome job (even though it was freakishly hot), and savored the few hours of reading I got to enjoy while he running around the city.  I read the book The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen--a very enjoyable book.  I picked up another one of her eBooks from my local library and started it last night.  Hopefully I'll write about that book in another post.

So anyways, after he finished the race, we drove over to Old Fourth Ward to go to Highland Bakery.  It was packed, but the food was well worth the wait.  We enjoyed the atmosphere and the friendly people.  I just reviewed it on yelp, so you can read the my thoughts on it over there.  After our super filling, delicious lunch we spent a few hours visiting with Mr. Biz's grandmother, and then headed home for a delicious and nutritious dinner of doughnuts.  Yes, we ate doughnuts for dinner.  We are crazy.  ;]

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend.  I'm constantly amazed at how wonderful it can be to do the little mundane things of life with someone dear to you.  Jack Johnson even has a song about stuff being better together. 

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, as well.  Today is my youngest sister's 18th birthday. WHAT?!?  When did she grow up?  It's crazy.  In my mind I guess she's still a little kid.  Also, if she's 18 that means I must be getting freakishly old.  ;] 
 

We'll Use Any Excuse

We'll use any excuse to spend time together (the "we" being my group of college friends).

This past weekend it was a friend's wedding.

Brynn is my favorite wedding date.  It's funny to think that last summer I was at a wedding with them...and it was their own!

And Hook and Julie stopped by after their trip up north.

We played a TON of Beatles Rockband, which quickly evolved to Beatles Horse (of Many Colors).  Hook added the "of Many Colors" when he lost miserably to me.  When we quit the game, Hook had "Horse of M" (I think), and I had "Ho."  So that you know I have nice friends: Hook told his family I was a "Ho" at the dinner table.  I had to explain that one really quickly.

One of the best parts of the weekend: I stayed with my "long-lost family" for two days!  I don't know when we realized it, but I am definitely a long-lost member of Hook's family.  Chilling with them is always awesome and I'm so glad to have my second family.  Now I have two families I can count on, which is fantastic.

I'm so thankful to have all of those people in my life, especially on days like today.  This morning I had an interview for a job that I'd really like to have, and I know they were all lifting up prayers for me.  If you'd like to pray as well, that would be great.

And last but not least...
Kelley (my little sister) is quite aghast about my tan, especially compared to her lack of one.  I feel so accomplished: I'm darker than my "Native American" sister.

Mwuhaha.  So tan.  And an epic Chaco tan, too.

Has anyone been to a great wedding lately?  Or shamed someone with their lack of a tan?  ;]

Bragging

Sorry to brag, but this has been the best weekend ever.

{Well, not really the best ever, but it is definitely in the top 15.  I've had lots of good weekends.}
When is hanging out with four college friends not a good idea?  Never, that's when.

More to come when I get back to TN.  I'm chillin' at my second family's home at the moment.
